Non-resident health care providers who
render professional services in Kansas are required to
comply with the Health Care Stabilization Fund law. The
following general procedures have been established to assist
non-residents:
- Contact the Fund and request
copies of the non-resident instructions, worksheet and
compliance form. You may open the following
Adobe PDF file and print a copy of our non-resident brochure that
includes the non-resident instructions, worksheet and
compliance form.
2. Advise your insurance company that
you will be practicing in Kansas and verify that
insurance company
is on the Kansas Fund's list of
acceptable insurance companies for non-resident health
care providers. 3. Contact the servicing carrier of
the Kansas
Health Care Provider Insurance Availability
Plan (the Plan) if
you are
not able to utilize your existing professional liability
insurance for your Kansas practice or
otherwise unable to
locate professional liability insurance for your Kansas
practice. The Plan can issue a
pro-rated policy based on
a limited Kansas practice. The Plan will also complete
the necessary Fund
compliance forms and assist you with
the Fund surcharge payment.
4. Contact one of the following
individuals at the Fund if you need copies of the
necessary forms, additional
assistance or have other
questions about the non-resident compliance
procedures:
